flydubai has achieved a significant milestone in its European expansion with the initiation of direct flights connecting Dubai and Vilnius, establishing the first-ever nonstop air route between the UAE and Lithuania. This new service amplifies the airline's footprint in Central and Eastern Europe, fostering new opportunities for travel, tourism, and business exchanges between both nations.
Operating three times weekly, the Dubai–Vilnius route links Lithuania directly to one of the busiest aviation hubs in the world. This service affords travelers quicker access to Dubai and smooth connections across the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and the Indian Ocean. For flydubai, this marks a further advancement in its strategy to engage with new and developing markets through reliable connectivity.
By launching this service, flydubai becomes the first UAE airline to provide nonstop flights to Lithuania. This expansion adds a new destination to its growing European network and positions Vilnius as a crucial gateway for those seeking leisure and business opportunities in the Gulf region. Anticipated passenger demand is expected to increase, driven by rising interest in cultural exchanges, trade relations, and long-haul connectivity.
The new route is anticipated to strengthen economic collaboration, offering Lithuanian travelers simpler access to Dubai’s diverse attractions and popular onward locations such as the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Thailand. Likewise, visitors from the UAE and beyond can now conveniently access the Baltic region. Industry experts in aviation and tourism foresee that this service will lead to an increase in passenger numbers and a broader engagement between the markets.
Flights will arrive and depart from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport, as part of the codeshare agreement between flydubai and Emirates. This partnership allows passengers to book a single ticket, check in baggage through to final destinations, and tap into a shared network of over 240 global destinations.
Passengers have the option of flydubai’s Business Class, featuring lie-flat seating and fine dining, or Economy Class, which comes with complimentary inflight entertainment and meal service. These offerings exemplify the airline's commitment to enhancing the overall travel experience across its route network.
With the inclusion of Vilnius in its offerings, flydubai continues to forge direct air links between Dubai and major international cities, solidifying its role in boosting tourism, expanding global mobility, and creating connections through Dubai.
