GCC Unveils Joint Pension Awareness Initiative for Member States

GCC Unveils Joint Pension Awareness Initiative for Member States

Post by : Badri Ariffin

The pension and social security agencies across GCC countries have introduced a collaborative awareness campaign called “Insurance Protection... Under a GCC Umbrella”. This initiative demonstrates enhanced regional coordination and aims to boost understanding of pension rights among member states.

Focusing on GCC nationals employed outside their native countries yet within the Gulf area, the campaign is designed to help them comprehend their pension entitlements and how to utilize the Unified Extension Protection System (UEPS), which ensures ongoing social security coverage throughout GCC nations.

Launched concurrently in all GCC member states, this initiative signifies efforts to reinforce integration and facilitate workforce mobility. It guarantees that workers can maintain the continuity of their pension contributions and benefits while taking up employment in different GCC territories.

The Unified System serves as a protective measure for laborers, safeguarding their years of service and contributions. This bolsters long-term financial security and social protection for employees across the region.

Through this campaign, GCC pension authorities strive to enhance awareness on critical aspects including insurance benefits for workers and their dependents, the legal obligations of both employers and employees, and the pertinent regulations regarding pension contribution payments.

The initiative targets both public and private sector employers, GCC nationals working across the region, and media outlets to ensure widespread awareness and engagement.

To effectively disseminate the message, the campaign will leverage digital avenues, traditional media, and the official social media platforms of pension authorities. It will also incorporate engaging workshops to connect with the public.

All authorized communication avenues will be available to address public inquiries, fostering a clearer understanding of the system while promoting the objectives of this integrated GCC initiative.
