The Dubai Financial Audit Authority (FAA) has proudly marked the graduation of its third cohort from the Professional Diploma – Government Auditor Programme, a prominent initiative established in collaboration with the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG). This program aims to empower local talent for vital auditing and oversight roles within Dubai’s governmental framework.
This latest cohort consists of 22 individuals from 13 distinct Dubai Government entities, all having participated in a rigorous training regimen that combines academic learning with practical fieldwork.
The training unfolded in two primary phases. The initial phase concentrated on academic instruction, offering 29 specialized modules across essential subjects. Topics included the role of artificial intelligence in auditing, adherence to International Standards on Auditing, International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), relevant financial and regulatory legislation, financial statement analysis, enterprise risk management, and governance practices tailored for Dubai's public sector. This groundwork was designed to align with the latest international frameworks and contemporary regulatory demands.
The transition to the second phase emphasized the practical application of knowledge. Participants engaged in actual audit projects under the mentorship of seasoned FAA audit professionals. This experiential learning approach allowed them to employ theoretical concepts in realistic settings, fostering skill development, professional assurance, and a nuanced appreciation of regulatory functions. The comprehensive nature of the program has effectively readied graduates to perform their responsibilities adeptly, aligning with best practices globally.
His Excellency Abdulrahman Al Hareb, Director General of the Dubai Financial Audit Authority, remarked on the significance of this graduation as a testament to the Authority’s unwavering dedication to cultivating a robust regulatory landscape led by skilled national professionals. He underscored that the program endows participants with essential tools and knowledge required for effective performance, supporting Dubai's vision of reinforcing governance, oversight, and accountability across all governmental sectors.
He further acknowledged the vital partnership with the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government, recognizing it as crucial in establishing a high-caliber training framework. He expressed optimism that the graduates will significantly enhance their respective entities and contribute valuably to the emirate's regulatory framework.
In a similar vein, His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government, extended his congratulations to the graduates, noting that the program exemplifies the leadership's vision to invest in Emirati talent and empower national competencies to foster enduring institutional excellence. He emphasized that skilled individuals are the backbone of an agile and progressive governmental structure.
Dr. Al Marri further articulated that the strategic alliance with the Dubai Financial Audit Authority serves as a robust model for cooperative governance aimed at promoting transparency and sound operational practices. He highlighted MBRSG’s unwavering commitment to merging academic rigor with practical training, equipping local talent with advanced auditing tools rooted in international benchmarks and current technologies to facilitate superior financial decision-making and enhance asset stewardship.
The Professional Diploma – Government Auditor Programme consistently reinforces its status as a principal professional development initiative in Dubai. It equips attendees with key auditing expertise, data analytical skills, a thorough grasp of financial legislation, and a strong ethical foundation while exposing them to contemporary best practices within the realms of regulatory and supervisory roles.
The graduation of this third cohort highlights the dedication of Dubai’s governmental bodies to nurturing national talent, adapting to rapid regulatory changes, and fostering sustainable institutional practices that align with the long-term strategic vision of the Government of Dubai.
