Vice President of the People’s Republic of China Han Zheng and his delegation have wrapped up an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Chinese delegation left King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh following a series of talks designed to deepen cooperation and reinforce the long-standing partnership between the two countries.
Han Zheng was formally seen off by Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz together with senior Saudi officials. The airport farewell underscored the mutual respect and diplomatic significance both capitals attach to continued engagement and collaboration.
During his stay, Vice President Han Zheng met with senior Saudi leaders to discuss ways to advance bilateral relations. The agenda covered developments in energy, commerce, technology, culture and education, with both sides underscoring a shared commitment to cooperation and innovation that supports their respective strategic goals.
Saudi Arabia and China maintain a deep economic relationship built over decades. China remains one of Saudi Arabia’s principal trading partners and a major buyer of Saudi oil, while Saudi investment in China has been expanding. The visit offered a platform to broaden ties in renewables, logistics, infrastructure and digital industries and to seek fresh avenues for joint investment.
Leaders also highlighted the value of cultural and educational links as a foundation for stronger people-to-people relations. Future measures discussed include student exchanges, academic collaborations and joint cultural programming intended to deepen mutual understanding between the Saudi and Chinese publics.
Broader regional and global topics were raised as well, with both sides expressing support for multilateral dialogue and coordination. Officials emphasized working together in international forums to tackle shared challenges and promote stability, development and peaceful cooperation.
The successful conclusion of Han Zheng’s visit reflects the trust that has grown between Saudi Arabia and China. Both governments see a balanced, cooperative partnership as contributing positively to global economic stability and long-term bilateral progress.
As Han Zheng left Riyadh, officials on both sides voiced optimism about next steps in the relationship. The agreements and understandings reached are expected to open the way for further high-level meetings and expanded strategic cooperation across multiple sectors.
His departure brought to a close a visit that highlighted the strategic importance of Saudi-Chinese relations. The hospitality extended by Saudi hosts and the cordial farewell at the airport symbolized an enduring friendship and set the stage for continued collaboration aimed at shared prosperity.
