Heartbeat of Humanity Secures Top Honors at 30th Webby Awards 2026

The acclaimed Heartbeat of Humanity film series, produced by the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, has taken the top prize in the Documentary category at the 30th Annual Webby Awards, renowned as a pinnacle of digital excellence.

Dubbed the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, the Webby Awards acknowledge exceptional achievements in websites, applications, and social media.

This marks a significant achievement for the Heartbeat of Humanity series, which not only garnered the Webby Award from the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences but also won the Webby People’s Voice Award after receiving over 4 million global votes.

Competing against over 13,000 entries, it distinguished itself as a finalist in the Documentary category, joining the ranks of previous winners like National Geographic, Netflix, and The Washington Post.

His Excellency Mohamed Abdelsalam, the Secretary-General of the award, remarked that this recognition underscores storytelling's vital role in promoting humanitarian values worldwide. He emphasized that the series aligns with the award’s mission of fostering unity and human fraternity.

Produced by the Abu Dhabi creative organization People, the films shine a light on the remarkable contributions of the award’s 2025 and 2026 honourees.

The series highlights impactful figures and organizations, including Mia Amor Mottley, World Central Kitchen, and Afghan advocate Zarqa Yaftali, among others.

Tim Elliott, CEO of People, expressed that this recognition reflects not only industry respect but also a profound connection with audiences worldwide. He noted the team's commitment to honoring these stories authentically.

The ceremony will be held in New York City on May 11, 2026. Established in 1996, the Webby Awards are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, which comprises over 3,000 industry leaders;
