Renowned actress and BJP MP Hema Malini honored the legacy of her late husband, the iconic Dharmendra, by receiving the esteemed Padma Awards 2026 at the Civil Investiture Ceremony hosted at Rashtrapati Bhavan on May 25 in New Delhi.
Presented by President Droupadi Murmu, the Padma Vibhushan was awarded to Hema Malini months after the passing of Dharmendra in November 2025. This heartfelt moment became one of the standout experiences of the ceremony as she accepted the accolade gracefully.
For this memorable occasion, Hema Malini chose a stunning blush pink saree that embodied both elegance and simplicity. Embellished with intricate embroidery and soft floral motifs, the saree also featured a shimmering silver border, enhancing her look. Complementing her saree was a matching half-sleeve blouse adorned with silver detailing, creating a sophisticated ethnic ensemble.
Opting for a regal yet understated styling approach, Hema Malini accessorized with a brilliant diamond choker, matching earrings, and a stunning bracelet. The traditional red bangles along with her signature bindi added a classic touch to her outfit.
For her makeup, she embraced a soft glam aesthetic with defined eyes, rosy cheeks, and a muted pink lip that harmonized beautifully with her attire. Her hair, styled in gentle waves with a center parting, completed her refined look at this prestigious event.
Hema Malini’s graceful presence at the Padma Awards 2026 reaffirmed her status as a timeless fashion icon in Indian cinema. Fans applauded her for the simplicity, elegance, and quintessential ethnic style she showcased.
Often referred to as the “Dream Girl” of Hindi cinema, Hema Malini stands out as one of the celebrated actresses in the Indian film industry. In addition to her prolific acting career, she has also represented Mathura as a BJP Member of Parliament since 2014.
