Hiroshima Teacher Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault of Minor

Post by : Shakul

Police in Hiroshima have arrested a 37-year-old high school teacher on suspicion of sexually assaulting a teenage girl at the school where he was employed. The suspect, Daichi Asami, is a local government employee accused of engaging in non-consensual sexual activity with the girl, knowing she was under the age of 16. The incident is believed to have have occurred on or around March 22, 2024.

The case came to light in January after a relative of the girl learned about the incident and reported it to prefectural police. Following an investigation, authorities arrested the suspect earlier this week.

According to the Hiroshima City Board of Education, Asami was working at a municipal school at the time of the alleged incident and is currently employed at another municipal high school. A board official described the case as deeply regrettable and said strict disciplinary action would be taken after confirming the facts.
