Understanding the Importance of Ashura

Conversely, Sunni Muslims associate Ashura with Prophet Moses' deliverance from the Pharaoh, often observing fasting as a form of gratitude on this day.

Devotees at Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh Shrine

In Qom, mourning ceremonies were held at the revered shrine of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh. A large number of devotees gathered to honor the day through special prayers and rituals.

The shrine, devoted to Fatemeh Masoumeh, the daughter of the seventh Shia Imam and sister of the eighth Imam, is deemed one of the holiest pilgrimage destinations in Iran, attracting visitors nationwide.
