Jesseca Liu Almost Rejected Award-Winning Role

Jesseca Liu Almost Rejected Award-Winning Role

Post by : Shakul

Jesseca Liu has revealed that she almost turned down the role that eventually earned her the Best Actress award at the 2026 Star Awards. The surprising revelation has drawn attention to her journey and the challenges she faced before accepting the role.

Liu won the prestigious award for her performance in Emerald Hill, where she played the character of Er Shao Nai Nai. The role has been widely praised for its emotional depth and has become one of the most memorable performances of her career.

The award marked a significant milestone for the actress, who achieved this recognition after a long 22-year career and multiple previous nominations. In addition to Best Actress, she also received the Most Emotional Performance award for the same role.

Despite the success, Liu admitted that she was initially hesitant to accept the role due to scheduling conflicts. At the time, she was already working on another drama project, which made it difficult for her to fully prepare for a new character.

She shared that she was concerned about not being able to transition properly between roles and felt it might not be fair to the new project. This led her to seriously consider rejecting the offer.

However, she ultimately decided to take on the challenge, a decision that proved to be career-defining. Her performance not only impressed audiences but also earned critical acclaim.

Looking back, Liu described her initial hesitation as a learning experience and expressed gratitude for choosing to accept the role. Her journey highlights the importance of taking risks and trusting opportunities in the entertainment industry.
