Filmmaker Karan Johar shared his enthusiasm for the New York screening of India's Oscar candidate Homebound, a prestigious event hosted by acclaimed director Martin Scorsese.

In an Instagram post, Johar expressed gratitude towards Scorsese, illuminating the importance of the occasion. The screening featured the film's lead cast alongside director Neeraj Ghaywan.

Johar's post read, "Presenting our story of #Homebound around the world has been an unforgettable adventure...and this screening in NYC, organized by our executive producer @martinscorsese_, was a heartwarming gathering of friends. Thank you for your unwavering support! It means the world to us, and although I couldn’t be there, I’m incredibly proud of what our film is achieving."

Homebound, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, explores the journey of two childhood friends from a small village in North India as they pursue a police career, reflecting their quest for dignity. Yet, as their dreams come within reach, the emerging pressures begin to strain their lifelong bond.

Featuring Janhvi Kapoor in a lead role, the film has garnered significant international acclaim, having been showcased at renowned festivals like Cannes 2025, TIFF, and IFFM.

With its NYC screening, Homebound continues to forge its international presence, receiving accolades for its gripping narrative and exceptional performances, underscoring a remarkable moment for Indian cinema on the global front.
