Karnataka Woman Kills Daughter and Herself in Shivamogga Tragedy

Karnataka Woman Kills Daughter and Herself in Shivamogga Tragedy

Post by : Rameen Ariff

In Karnataka's Shivamogga district, a tragic incident has come to light where a 38-year-old woman allegedly killed her 12-year-old daughter before taking her own life. The horrifying event occurred at the nurses’ quarters of a government hospital.

The bodies were discovered by the woman’s husband, who works as a lab technician at the same hospital. After completing his night shift, he returned home to find the door of their residence locked. Concerned, he sought help from neighbors and forcibly broke the door open. Inside, he found his daughter, Poorvika, a Class 6 student, lying with head injuries. Shruti, the mother, was found hanging over her daughter’s body.

Preliminary reports indicate that Shruti may have been struggling with mental health issues, which could have contributed to this tragic act. The police have registered a case covering murder and unnatural death and are investigating all possible angles to understand the circumstances surrounding this incident.
