Post by : Shakul

Headlined by Suriya, Karuppu has emerged as one of the biggest Tamil hits of 2026. The fantasy action drama crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the Indian box office within just six days of its theatrical release.

Directed by RJ Balaji, the film collected Rs 10.3 crore on its sixth day across India. Tamil screenings remained the major contributor with Rs 8.55 crore, while the Telugu dubbed version added Rs 1.75 crore to the total collection.

The movie opened strongly on May 15 with Rs 15.5 crore on day one. Collections witnessed massive growth during the weekend as the film earned Rs 24.15 crore on day two and Rs 28.35 crore on day three. Even after the weekday drop, the film managed to maintain a stable run at the ticket counters.

According to trade estimates, the film earned Rs 14.3 crore on day four and Rs 12.75 crore on day five before collecting another Rs 10.3 crore on Wednesday. With this performance, the total India net collection of the film has reached Rs 105.35 crore.

The film has also received an impressive response in overseas markets. On day six alone, Karuppu collected nearly Rs 3 crore internationally. Its overseas gross collection has now touched Rs 54 crore, pushing the worldwide total close to Rs 176 crore.

Occupancy rates for the Tamil version remained strong throughout the day. Night shows recorded the highest audience turnout with nearly 47 percent occupancy. The Telugu version also showed steady growth, especially during afternoon and evening shows.

Apart from Suriya, the film features Trisha Krishnan, Indrans, Natty Subramaniam and Swasika in important roles. The strong word of mouth and positive audience response continue to drive the film’s successful theatrical run.
