Kevin Spacey is preparing for a new round of legal challenges in London starting next year in relation to civil sexual assault allegations, following a previous acquittal on criminal charges.
Three men are pursuing lawsuits against the 66-year-old, claiming assaults that reportedly took place between 2000 and 2013 during his tenure as artistic director at the Old Vic theatre. A judge has tentatively set October 12, 2026, as a trial date, with the decision on whether to merge the cases still pending.
Spacey has publicly denied all allegations. Two of the plaintiffs were involved in his earlier criminal trial, which concluded with his acquittal. One individual asserts that he suffered repeated assaults from 2000 to 2005, another claims trauma and financial losses linked to an alleged incident in 2008, while a third, actor Ruari Cannon, alleges he was groped during a theatre event in 2013 and is simultaneously pursuing action against the Old Vic.
In a recent statement, Spacey addressed the financial strain resulting from his legal issues, indicating he has been residing in temporary housing while continuing to work. He clarified that he is not homeless in the traditional sense, thanking those who have shown support and highlighting the plight of those truly in need.
