The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) in Riyadh is gearing up to host the Robotic Surgery Collaboration Summit (RSC Summit) from December 4-6. This significant international event aims to foster global partnerships in advancing contemporary surgical techniques, facilitating knowledge exchange, and shaping the future landscape of robotic surgery. Surgeons, medical specialists, and technology innovators from around the globe will convene, marking this summit as a pivotal gathering in this domain.
As per a press release from KFSHRC, the summit will feature a comprehensive scientific agenda addressing various advanced surgical areas. Topics of discussion will include colorectal surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgeries, abdominal wall reconstructions, hepatopancreatobiliary procedures, organ transplants, and bariatric interventions. The program will include scientific talks, expert panels, and workshops that emphasize surgical education, patient safety, training methodologies, and live demonstrations conducted by world-renowned specialists.
Innovative technologies that are poised to revolutionize surgeries globally will also be showcased, such as natural orifice surgery techniques, single-port robotic systems, robotic Whipple operations for pancreatic conditions, and magnetic anastomosis tools that enhance the healing of internal tissues. The summit will further delve into how modern surgical practices are being transformed through advanced applications and digital tools that aid clinical decisions and optimize patient outcomes.
A diverse range of professionals, including department heads, specialized surgeons, surgical trainees, healthcare artificial intelligence developers, hospital executives, policymakers, and regulatory bodies, will be in attendance. This makes for a robust international platform fostering collaboration and introducing transformative ideas that may redefine surgical environments in years to come. By uniting experts from various disciplines, the event aims to expedite advancements in surgical care and nurture global innovation.
KFSHRC noted that hosting this summit signifies a crucial measure toward fortifying Saudi Arabia’s evolving robotic surgery landscape. As part of its commitment to being a premier hub for cutting-edge medical care, the hospital actively supports training, skill development, and scientific knowledge exchange. These initiatives are vital for enhancing patient safety, improving specialized care quality, and expanding surgical capabilities in essential medical fields.
KFSHRC's achievements have garnered international recognition, ranking first in the Middle East and Africa, and fifteenth globally among the top 250 academic medical centers for 2025.
