The philanthropic efforts in Dubai took a notable leap forward as Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman and Founder of Al Habtoor Group, gifted five residential units from the prestigious Al Habtoor City to the Real Estate Developers’ Endowment initiative. This program, formulated in collaboration with the Dubai Land Department (DLD) and overseen by the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy (MBRGCEC), is designed to enhance long-lasting charitable endeavors throughout the UAE.
Management and operations of the donated units will be under Al Habtoor Group, with the proceeds channeled annually into humanitarian and community-focused projects. The funds raised will target essential areas such as health, education, and assisting vulnerable populations including orphans and individuals with disabilities.
In his remarks, Al Habtoor stressed the significance of endowments as enduring instruments for societal benefit. “Our nation is rooted in a tradition of generosity. These endowments serve our people and embody our commitment to the UAE’s principles,” he stated.
This initiative underscores the increasing partnership between the private sphere and the endowment sector, inspiring real estate stakeholders to take a proactive role in community service. It also aligns with the UAE’s mission to foster a culture of giving and establish sustainable support for those in need.
By converting real estate assets into philanthropic instruments, the program ensures a consistent source of assistance for meaningful initiatives, thereby ensuring that contributions yield ongoing benefits for the community.
The Real Estate Developers’ Endowment has already set a benchmark, demonstrating how corporate entities can significantly influence social progress while aligning philanthropy with corporate responsibility.
