Concerns Escalate Over Virat Kohli's Fitness Ahead of Upcoming Match

Concerns Escalate Over Virat Kohli's Fitness Ahead of Upcoming Match

Post by : Badri Ariffin

A recently circulated training video featuring Virat Kohli has ignited new worries among Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) supporters, as the prominent batter seemed to struggle during his practice routines.

Captured at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the footage highlights Kohli partaking in light runs between the wickets. However, his limited mobility suggests ongoing discomfort.

Knee Support Stirs Speculation Following Ankle Injury

Compounding the uncertainty, Kohli donned a knee brace during this session. Fans were baffled, as he had previously injured his ankle in RCB’s latest match. The noticeable support and his cautious activity imply a careful recovery strategy from the team management.

Injury Incident Against Mumbai Indians

Concerns surfaced during RCB’s clash with Mumbai Indians when Kohli reported discomfort just five deliveries into the 10th over. He required treatment on the field and subsequently exited, unable to return for the game.

Despite his early departure, RCB clinched victory, yet Kohli’s exit cast significant doubt on his fitness for upcoming matches.

No Official Communication from RCB on Injury Status

Currently, RCB has not communicated any official updates on Kohli’s condition or expected recovery time. His participation in the next match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) hangs in the balance.

Availability Dependent on Fitness Assessments

Kohli’s ability to play in the forthcoming game is expected to rely on last-minute fitness evaluations and medical clearance. Given his essential role in the batting order, RCB is eager to ensure his return is safe and timely.

Integral Player for RCB’s Season Goals

Kohli has shown remarkable form throughout IPL 2026, consistently leading innings and offering stability at the top of the order. His presence is crucial for RCB, particularly in critical matches.

Fans will remain on edge as they await official word, with the situation in flux ahead of RCB’s upcoming fixture.
