Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced additional Electric Train Service (ETS) operations to support passengers travelling for the Johor state election. The extra services will operate from July 10 to July 12 following strong demand for train tickets.
KTMB will introduce eight additional train services on the KL Sentral–JB Sentral and JB Sentral–Gemas routes. Each train will provide 312 seats, increasing the total number of available tickets by 7,464 during the three-day travel period.

Passengers booking the additional ETS services will receive a 20 percent fare discount. KTMB said the promotion supports the government's Road to Rail initiative, which encourages more people to choose rail transport instead of travelling by private vehicles.
Tickets for the JB Sentral–Gemas route are already available, while bookings for the KL Sentral–JB Sentral route will open on Wednesday morning. KTMB has advised travellers to purchase tickets early due to expected high demand before polling day.
Passengers are encouraged to arrive at railway stations at least 30 minutes before departure. KTMB reminded travellers that boarding gates will close five minutes before scheduled departure to ensure smooth train operations.
The additional services are expected to help reduce road congestion and provide voters with a more convenient travel option. KTMB said the initiative also supports sustainable public transportation while helping Malaysians return home to cast their votes.
