Kylian Mbappe produced a brilliant hat-trick as Real Madrid returned to winning ways with a 5-0 victory over Champions League newcomers Kairat Almaty on Tuesday. The win was the perfect response after their painful 5-2 defeat against rivals Atletico Madrid in LaLiga just days earlier.
Mbappe, who now has five goals in this Champions League campaign, was the star of the night. Speaking after the game, he said the team must not forget their recent mistakes but use them as motivation to grow stronger. "My job is to help the team win matches and trophies. A player like me must take every chance. I’m happy with three goals, but I could have scored more," he said.
Kairat started positively and showed no fear despite their underdog status. However, Real soon took control, and the opening goal came in the 25th minute. Franco Mastantuono was fouled in the box after a defensive error, and Mbappe made no mistake from the penalty spot.

The French star doubled the lead in the 52nd minute with a stunning chip over the goalkeeper after racing clear from Thibaut Courtois’ long pass. He then completed his hat-trick in the 73rd minute with a thunderous strike into the top corner, set up by substitute Rodrygo’s dazzling run.
Rodrygo continued to impress, assisting Eduardo Camavinga for a header in the 83rd minute. Brahim Diaz then sealed the victory in stoppage time with a close-range finish, completing a night of dominance for Real Madrid.
The win keeps Real Madrid in a strong position in their group, while Kairat remain without a point in their first Champions League campaign. Despite moments of promise, their defensive errors proved too costly against the Spanish giants.
