Kyrgyzstan Marks Armed Forces Anniversary

Kyrgyzstan Marks Armed Forces Anniversary

Post by : Shakul

Kyrgyzstan celebrated the 34th anniversary of its Armed Forces with a grand ceremony held at the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic Hall in Bishkek. The event was attended by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev, senior government officials, military commanders, veterans, and members of the armed forces. The ceremony highlighted the country's continued commitment to strengthening national defense and safeguarding sovereignty.

Addressing the gathering, Adylbek Kasymaliev congratulated military personnel, veterans, and their families on the important milestone. He emphasized that the establishment of the Armed Forces following Kyrgyzstan’s independence marked a crucial step in building a strong and sovereign nation capable of protecting its territorial integrity and national interests.

Kasymaliev praised the dedication of military veterans and former commanders who played a key role in creating and developing the national army. He noted that despite numerous challenges over the past three decades, the Armed Forces have maintained their traditions while steadily improving their operational capabilities and readiness.

A significant portion of the speech focused on the modernization of the military. According to the chairman, recent years have seen substantial investments in advanced defense technologies, including modern weapons systems, military aviation, air defense equipment, armored vehicles, communications infrastructure, and logistical support capabilities. These upgrades are intended to strengthen the country's defense posture and improve military effectiveness.

The government has also increased efforts to improve the welfare of military personnel. New residential housing, military camps, barracks, and service facilities are being constructed across the country to provide better living and working conditions for soldiers and their families. Officials believe these measures will contribute to higher morale and long-term stability within the armed forces.

Kasymaliev highlighted the growing popularity of military service among young citizens, noting that more young people are choosing careers in the armed forces. He described this trend as a reflection of increasing patriotism and public confidence in the military institution as an important pillar of national development and security.

The chairman reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to a peaceful foreign policy while maintaining strong defense capabilities. He stressed the importance of regional cooperation through organizations such as the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. Concluding his remarks, Kasymaliev expressed confidence that the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan remain fully prepared to defend the nation and protect its citizens while contributing to regional peace and stability.
