Kyrgyzstan Starts Countdown to Nomad Games

Post by : Shakul

Kyrgyzstan has officially launched the 100-day countdown to the Sixth World Nomad Games, one of the country’s biggest international cultural and sporting events. The ceremony was led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Ulan Mamatkanov, who marked the beginning of preparations for the global event that celebrates nomadic heritage and traditional sports.

During the official ceremony, Ulan Mamatkanov announced that the World Nomad Games will begin on August 31, which also marks the Independence Day of Kyrgyzstan. He described the event as a symbol of national pride and cultural revival, saying the games reconnect modern society with the traditions and spirit of ancient nomadic civilizations.

Mamatkanov said the World Nomad Games have become an important platform for preserving the sports and customs passed down by ancestors over generations. According to him, Kyrgyzstan played a key role in reviving these traditional games and bringing together nomadic communities and cultural enthusiasts from around the world.

Addressing participants and organizers, he said visitors attending the games would experience the unique traditions of the Kyrgyz people. He highlighted that guests from different countries would hear the sounds of traditional music, witness ancient horse games, and feel the spirit of nomadic culture that has shaped Central Asian history for centuries.

The Deputy Chairman also emphasized that the next 100 days are a period of responsibility, preparation, and patriotism for the country. Authorities and organizers are expected to work together to ensure the international event is conducted successfully and reflects the cultural identity and hospitality of Kyrgyzstan on a global stage.

Officials believe the World Nomad Games will not only strengthen cultural ties between nations but also boost tourism and international recognition for Kyrgyzstan. Thousands of athletes, artists, tourists, and cultural representatives from different countries are expected to participate in the event later this year.

At the end of the ceremony, Ulan Mamatkanov called on citizens to proudly represent Kyrgyzstan and preserve the legacy of their ancestors. He said the Nomad Games are more than a sporting competition, describing them as a celebration of history, unity, and the enduring traditions of nomadic civilization.

The World Nomad Games have grown into a globally recognized event since their introduction by Kyrgyzstan and are widely seen as a unique celebration of traditional sports, culture, and heritage from across the nomadic world.
