Celebrating Inclusion: Marine Sports Festival for People of Determination in Abu Dhabi

In a remarkable display of athletic prowess, Abu Dhabi hosted a significant event for People of Determination on Thursday. Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, esteemed Chairman of the UAE Sailing and Modern Rowing Federation, honored the winners of the Marine Sports Festival, demonstrating the UAE's commitment to inclusivity in sports.

This exciting festival, organized by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club in collaboration with the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, provided an excellent platform for athletes to shine in various marine sports.

The festival featured a series of competitions, including sailing and kayaking. Spectators were captivated by the determination and skill displayed by over 50 competitors, each demonstrating remarkable sportsmanship and dedication. This vibrant event celebrated both talent and resilience in the face of challenges.

The awarding ceremony saw key figures in attendance, including Ahmed Salem Al Shamsi, Director of Abu Dhabi Club for People of Determination, and Rashid Al Falahi, Director of Support Services at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club. Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan personally recognized the hard work and successes of the winners.

Khalifa Al Suwaidi underscored the importance of the festival, noting the UAE's dedication to supporting People of Determination. He stressed that fostering an inclusive sports culture encourages athletes to reach their full potential while enhancing their skills. This initiative actively integrates People of Determination into various sports practices nationwide.

The festival also aimed to cultivate skills by offering specialized marine sports programs to participants. These initiatives not only refine techniques but also inspire creativity in high-stakes environments. This concerted effort seeks to increase the representation of People of Determination in both national and international sports.

Participants expressed their delight in being part of such a meaningful event, sharing that experiences like this equip them with essential skills, build confidence, and garner recognition for their hard work. The festival also fostered camaraderie, teamwork, and mutual encouragement among athletes.

The People of Determination Marine Sports Festival is a shining example of the UAE’s commitment to promoting equality and inclusivity in sports. With its competitive opportunities and specialized training programs, the festival not only empowers athletes but also inspires future generations to embrace sports with determination and resilience.
