Mary Livestock Farmers Complete Lambing Season

Mary Livestock Farmers Complete Lambing Season

Post by : Shakul

Livestock farmers in Mary Velayat have successfully completed the important lambing season, marking a strong achievement for the region’s agriculture sector. This season plays a key role in increasing the number of sheep and goats, which directly supports food supply, rural income, and overall agricultural growth. The successful completion of this campaign shows the dedication of farmers and the improving strength of livestock farming in the region.

The livestock sector in Turkmenistan is showing steady progress with the support of government policies and modern farming methods. Farmers are now focusing more on quality rather than just quantity, using better feeding practices, improved breeding techniques, and regular health monitoring to raise stronger and healthier animals.

One of the leading contributors to this success is the well-known “Maldar” livestock farm located in the Sakarchage area. This farm achieved its production target by successfully raising 66,485 healthy lambs and kids from more than 73,000 mother animals. This result is seen as a major milestone and reflects effective planning and proper animal care throughout the season.

The success of the lambing campaign is mainly due to the hard work and experience of shepherds and farm workers. They are combining traditional knowledge passed down through generations with modern veterinary science. This balanced approach helps them manage animal health better, reduce risks, and improve survival rates of newborn animals.

After the lambing season, special attention is now being given to the growth and development of young animals. Farm experts and veterinarians are regularly visiting grazing areas to guide shepherds, monitor animal health, and ensure that proper feeding and care practices are followed. This step is very important for building a strong and productive livestock population.

The animals are being grazed in fertile and resource-rich areas such as Taz guyy and Harazly. These regions provide high-quality natural forage, which helps animals grow faster and stay healthy. Proper grazing management also ensures that animals meet veterinary standards and reduces the chances of disease.

At the same time, the farm has started preparing for the upcoming summer season. Workers are checking water wells, repairing water-lifting equipment, and planning the efficient use of grazing land. These preparations are important to handle hot weather conditions and ensure that animals have enough water and food during the summer months.

After completing the lambing process, farmers have also begun the spring sheep shearing campaign. This process not only improves animal comfort during warmer weather but also provides wool, which is an important source of income. Overall, the continued efforts of livestock farmers show strong progress and a positive future for the agriculture sector in the region.
