Abu Dhabi-based investment firm Multiply Group has made a strategic entry into the packaging industry by acquiring a majority stake in ISEM, a leading European packaging company. Through this deal, Multiply Group now owns 60.8% of ISEM, while Peninsula Capital and other minority shareholders retain 39.2%.
This acquisition forms a strong partnership, combining Multiply Group’s global growth expertise with Peninsula Capital’s deep knowledge of the packaging sector and its strong presence in Southern Europe. The collaboration aims to strengthen ISEM’s market leadership and accelerate its global expansion, while maintaining the company’s reputation for design excellence, craftsmanship, and client trust.
Founded in 1949 and headquartered in Bologna, Italy, ISEM is known worldwide for its premium packaging solutions. The company operates 11 manufacturing plants spanning over 100,000 m², producing rigid boxes, folding cases, silk paper, and dust bags. Its prestigious clients include LVMH, Gucci, Kiko, L’Oréal, Puig, and Coty Lancaster, reinforcing the company’s strong Made in Italy brand identity.
ISEM has seen remarkable growth in recent years, with revenues tripling and EBITDA quadrupling between 2021 and 2024. The acquisition by Multiply Group marks the company’s fifth consumer-focused vertical, adding to its existing beauty and apparel businesses and expanding its presence in luxury-focused sectors.
This strategic move reflects Multiply Group’s long-term vision of building resilient global businesses, driving sustainable growth, leveraging cross-industry synergies, and promoting innovation in manufacturing and design. With this acquisition, ISEM is poised to enhance its industrial capabilities, deliver high-quality packaging solutions at scale, and strengthen its global footprint.
