Nita Ambani Dazzles in Unique Jamdani Saree at TIME 100 Summit

Nita Ambani Dazzles in Unique Jamdani Saree at TIME 100 Summit

Post by : Badri Ariffin

At the TIME 100 Summit held in New York, Nita Ambani took the stage alongside Jessica Sibley during a Leadership Lens session. She emphasized that it is India’s moment, asserting the importance of soft power that India embodies.

For this distinguished occasion, Nita Ambani chose a rare Jamdani saree originating from West Bengal, spotlighting India’s rich textile artistry. Crafted painstakingly over two years by Padma Shri awardee Biren Kumar Basak in Phulia, West Bengal, this saree showcases remarkable craftsmanship.

The six-yard saree showcases a delicate cream hue adorned with vibrant motifs and exquisite meenakari work. It narrates stories through tribal designs and traditional artistry. The pallu features intricate depictions of human figures, animals, and nature, while the borders are embellished with fish motifs, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune.

This masterpiece was curated by Swadesh, a brand recognized for its dedication to preserving traditional Indian crafts and collaborating with talented artisans.

Nita Ambani accentuated the saree with sophisticated jewelry, including a triple-strand pearl necklace, emerald and diamond earrings, an eye-catching emerald ring, and matching bangles. Her look was completed with understated makeup, featuring a green bindi, kohl-lined eyes, and soft pink lips.

As the chairperson of the Reliance Foundation and founder of Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Nita Ambani plays multiple roles, including as a director at Reliance Industries. She is married to businessman Mukesh Ambani and is a mother to three children—Akash, Isha, and Anant Ambani.
