In a significant development for Bahrain’s energy sector, Noatum Maritime, a key part of AD Ports Group’s Maritime & Shipping Cluster, has been awarded a five-year contract by Bapco Upstream to provide comprehensive marine services at the Bahrain LNG Import Terminal (BLNG). This marks a major step in Noatum Maritime’s expansion strategy within the Kingdom.
The offshore LNG terminal, situated near Khalifa Bin Salman Port, is a critical hub designed to meet Bahrain’s growing demand for clean and reliable natural gas. Under the agreement, Noatum Maritime will deliver essential marine support services, including towage operations with LNG-compliant tugboats, berthing and unberthing of LNG carriers and Floating Storage Units (FSUs), and 24/7 emergency response and standby assistance. The services will be conducted by highly trained pilots and crews to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations.
This contract builds on Noatum Maritime’s ongoing growth in Bahrain, reflecting the company’s strategy to diversify its services beyond traditional port operations. By entering the LNG terminal sector, Noatum Maritime is not only strengthening its presence in the Kingdom but also creating synergies that support further regional expansion.
With this partnership, Bahrain reinforces its energy infrastructure and secures a reliable marine operations partner to support LNG import capabilities, a vital component of the nation’s energy security and transition goals.
