Kim Jong Un to Boost North Korea’s Nuclear and Missile Power Soon

Kim Jong Un to Boost North Korea’s Nuclear and Missile Power Soon

Post by : Meena Ariff

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is set to announce plans to strengthen the country’s nuclear forces at an important upcoming party meeting, according to official reports. This comes after Kim personally supervised the latest missile test, continuing a series of launches that have raised tensions in the region.

Kim has directed an “expansion” and modernization of missile production, signaling a focused push to upgrade the nation’s strategic weapons. The details of these plans are expected to be revealed during the ninth Communist Party congress, the first since 2021, scheduled to take place in the coming weeks.

At the congress, North Korea’s ruling party will introduce a new five-year plan covering defense and economic development. Kim emphasized the recent test of a large-caliber multiple rocket launcher as a significant step toward enhancing their strategic deterrent. He highlighted that the system is now capable of precise, targeted attacks.

During the test, missiles struck targets 358.5 kilometers away, heading toward the Sea of Japan. Reports confirmed that some missiles landed outside North Korea’s Exclusive Economic Zone. South Korea’s military detected several short-range ballistic missiles launched from north of Pyongyang in the same direction.

Kim warned that these developments would cause “excruciating mental agony” for any forces trying to provoke military conflict with North Korea. Experts suggest the new rocket system may use advanced guidance technology designed to counter GPS jamming, improving accuracy.

The test also saw the presence of Kim’s daughter, Kim Ju Ae, and top missile officials, showing the importance of this military progress. Despite challenges during development, Kim praised the test as a major advancement in boosting North Korea’s strategic strength.
