In Muscat, the Ministry of Social Development observed World Autism Awareness Day 2026 with a significant programme aimed at promoting inclusion and empowerment for individuals with autism. This initiative took place under the guidance of Dr. Abdullah bin Hamoud Al Harthi, Undersecretary for Persons with Disabilities’ Affairs.
The event was themed “Autism and Humanity – Every Life Has Value”, featuring a range of workshops and engaging sessions. These activities aimed to captivate children with autism spectrum disorder, showcasing their unique abilities and encouraging their active participation in the community.
A team of experts provided valuable insights and practical advice to parents and guardians, helping them to better assist their children with autism. The programme also sought to enhance public awareness and promote positive engagement with individuals on the spectrum.
The event welcomed families, students, and members of specialized centres, emphasizing the vital role of community collaboration in fostering an inclusive environment for people with autism throughout Oman.
