OnePlus has officially announced that its next major software update, OxygenOS 16, will be released in India on 16 October 2025, just a day after Oppo unveils ColorOS 16 in China. The update is expected to bring several exciting features, including a new way to track live sports events, which could attract fans across the country.
Reports from Android Authority suggest that OnePlus may introduce a feature similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island on iPhones. This interactive area, located at the top of the screen, may display live scores of ongoing sports events. Users could monitor games in real-time without opening separate apps or widgets, making it a convenient addition for sports lovers. On iOS devices, Dynamic Island allows long-press actions to expand the feature into a detailed scoreboard. If OnePlus implements a similar function, it could improve user experience by keeping notifications simple yet informative.
The OxygenOS 16 update will likely be available for a wide range of OnePlus smartphones and tablets, including:
This release will also mark the final software update for the Nord CE 4, Nord CE 4 Lite, and OnePlus Nord 3, following the company’s standard two-to-three-year support policy.
While OnePlus has not revealed all the details, OxygenOS 16 is expected to feature:
Fans can look forward to a software update that combines advanced features with easy usability, improving overall device performance and functionality.
