Operation Sindoor, India’s decisive military response against Pakistan-backed terrorism, was prominently showcased during the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path on the occasion of the country’s 77th Republic Day.
The Tri-Services tableau, themed “Victory Through Jointness,” reflected the seamless coordination and combined combat capability of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The display symbolised India’s evolving military doctrine, which focuses on integrated planning, swift execution, and technological superiority in modern warfare.
The tableau vividly portrayed the key elements of Operation Sindoor. It highlighted the Indian Air Force’s precision air strikes on terror infrastructure, the Indian Navy’s strategic manoeuvres that ensured control over maritime zones, and the Indian Army’s ground operations that neutralised hostile threats.
The operation began in the early hours of May 7, when Indian forces launched coordinated strikes on terrorist camps located deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The mission was carried out in response to the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, where more than two dozen tourists lost their lives last year.
Following the strikes, a four-day military confrontation unfolded. Pakistan attempted missile and aerial attacks on Indian cities, but these were effectively intercepted and neutralised by India’s advanced air defence systems, preventing civilian casualties and infrastructure damage.
On May 10, the operation was paused after Pakistani military commanders sought a ceasefire, citing mounting losses and the inability to sustain further escalation.
The Republic Day tableau not only commemorated the success of Operation Sindoor but also underscored the Indian Defence Forces’ transformation into a future-ready, mission-oriented force capable of responding swiftly and decisively to emerging security threats.
