Authorities in York Region are conducting an investigation following a tragic incident where a pedestrian was hit and killed by a train in Richmond Hill on the evening of April 10, 2026.

The collision occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. at the Elgin Mills crossing, positioned east of Yonge Street and north of the Richmond Hill GO station. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene after reports indicated that an individual had been struck by a train.
