Massive Celebration to Mark Philippine Independence in Dubai

Post by : Badri Ariffin

The upcoming event titled "Emirates Loves Philippines" is set to be a marquee community gathering at the Dubai World Trade Centre on June 7, celebrating 128 years of Philippine Independence.

This grand festival anticipates the participation of approximately 40,000 members from the Filipino diaspora in the UAE, along with a diverse audience keen on engaging with Filipino customs and cultural heritage.

Distinguished guests will include Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence of the UAE, as well as Alfonso Ferdinand A. Ver, Ambassador of the Philippines to the UAE, and Ambrosio Brian F. Enciso III, Philippine Consul General in Dubai. Participants will also feature representatives from Philippine Business Councils and Filipino educational institutions across the Emirates.

This gathering underscores the enduring friendship between the UAE and the Philippines, aiming to enrich cultural and social interactions between both peoples while celebrating the fruitful contributions of the Filipino community to the UAE's development.

Attendees can look forward to a variety of cultural and artistic presentations. Noteworthy Filipino singer and actress Arci Muñoz will lead an exciting entertainment lineup, complemented by popular P-pop ensembles such as 1st.One, G22, and ALAMAT.

Traditional performances, including the Sagala pageant, will offer an insight into Filipino customs, while a lively carnival parade will feature participants dressed in traditional costumes, celebrating the Philippines' rich cultural legacy.

A dedicated food village will serve up beloved Filipino delicacies, and family-oriented entertainment zones will provide interactive experiences, go-kart racing, competitions, and music throughout the festival.

This celebration exemplifies the UAE's dedication to fostering tolerance and cultural diversity, showcasing the evolving partnership between the two nations as they continue to enhance cooperation across cultural, economic, and social spheres.

Ultimately, this event serves to honor the crucial role of the Filipino community in the UAE, reinforcing the strong and amicable ties that connect both countries.
