Arafah Prayers Held at Namirah Mosque as Pilgrims Gather

Arafah Prayers Held at Namirah Mosque as Pilgrims Gather

Post by : Badri Ariffin

In the early hours, countless pilgrims made their way to Namirah Mosque in Arafat to partake in the combined Dhuhr and Asr prayers while absorbing the Arafah sermon in a serene and spiritual setting.

The movement of worshippers flowed smoothly through the mosque and its adjacent courtyards, facilitated by Saudi authorities who implemented extensive organizational measures to ensure pilgrims' safety and comfort during the Day of Arafah ceremonies.

Namirah Mosque stands as a key Islamic site due to its historical and religious importance, being the location where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) delivered his Farewell Sermon during his last pilgrimage. Named after Mount Namirah, it resides in the Arafat region.

Located approximately 22 kilometers from the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Namirah Mosque is the second-largest mosque in the holy sites area. Its unique Islamic architecture showcases six towering minarets, each reaching 60 meters, along with three domes, 10 main entrances, and 64 gates to efficiently handle large crowds.

Equipped with modern technological amenities, the mosque features high-quality audio systems and live streaming capabilities to broadcast the Arafah sermon and prayers globally. Additional facilities include cutting-edge air conditioning, shaded courtyard areas, digital display screens, and advanced security systems, all designed to create a secure and pleasant experience for pilgrims.
