Preity Zinta Expresses Gratitude as Punjab Kings Fall Short of IPL 2026 Playoffs

Preity Zinta Expresses Gratitude as Punjab Kings Fall Short of IPL 2026 Playoffs

Post by : Rameen Ariff

Co-owner of Punjab Kings and celebrated actress Preity Zinta took to social media to share her heartfelt sentiments with fans after the team narrowly missed a spot in the IPL 2026 playoffs.

Ending the season fifth on the points table with 15 points, Punjab Kings fell short by a single point, having entered the tournament with high hopes following a strong performance last year.

The team began strongly, clinching six consecutive victories, establishing themselves as frontrunners early on. Their stellar start saw them perched at the top of the leaderboard during the initial matches.

Unfortunately, the latter part of the season proved to be a tough challenge, with wins becoming increasingly elusive. Despite their efforts, Punjab Kings could not secure a top-four finish, and their aspirations for the playoffs came to an end after the final league matches.

In the wake of the team's exit, Preity Zinta expressed her profound appreciation on X, thanking fans for their unwavering support throughout the rollercoaster of IPL 2026.

She conveyed, “A huge thank you to all the supporters of PBKS for being our rock through this wild journey of IPL 2026. From the peaks to the valleys, your love made it all the more meaningful. Until next time, sending you all my love and best wishes.”

Zinta maintained an optimistic outlook throughout the season, continuously motivating players and fans, even in moments of defeat. After the team’s initial loss, which ended their winning streak, she reassured supporters by emphasizing that plenty of games were still ahead.

Meanwhile, the playoff lineup for IPL 2026 was finalized as Rajasthan Royals clinched the fourth playoff position by defeating Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru also secured their place in the IPL 2026 final, triumphing over Gujarat Titans by 92 runs in Qualifier 1 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
