The highly anticipated film Pushpa 2: The Rule, directed by Sukumar and featuring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, is all set to debut in Japan on January 16, 2026. This exciting news was revealed by Geek Pictures India, marking the film's next step into the international arena with its Japanese screening. Rashmika Mandanna shared her excitement by posting the link to the Japanese trailer while extending a warm greeting to fans in Japan.
Following an impressive theatrical run of 50 days, the film returned with a re-edited version that includes an additional 20 minutes of exclusive footage. Pushpa 2 made history as the first Hindi film to break into the ₹800-crore club, ultimately amassing over ₹1,800 crore globally, cementing its status as India’s highest-grossing film. Its remarkable success has set new standards for both domestic and international box office performance.
At its core, the narrative follows Pushpa Raj, a resilient man who rises from hardship to lead a formidable red-sandalwood syndicate. As the second installment in a planned trilogy, Pushpa 2 is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, with music provided by T-Series. Originally released in theaters on December 5, 2024, its upcoming Japan release signifies yet another significant achievement in its global journey.
