Qatar Airways Uplifts Dubai Flight Frequency to Five Daily Services

Qatar Airways Uplifts Dubai Flight Frequency to Five Daily Services

Post by : Badri Ariffin

In a significant move, Qatar Airways is set to enhance its flight operations between Doha and Dubai, ramping up to five daily flights for the summer travel season.

The Doha-based airline will initiate this ramp-up in phases, starting June 5, in response to the increasing travel demand between these two major Gulf destinations. This development follows a series of disruptions in the past few months due to regional airspace restrictions, prompting airlines throughout the Gulf to slowly reinstate their services as summer approaches.

As per the airline’s announcement, an additional daily service will commence on June 5, followed by a fourth flight starting June 15, with a fifth flight added later in the summer. By the end of this initiative, the airline is expected to operate up to 35 weekly flights linking Hamad International Airport in Doha and Dubai International Airport.

To facilitate these additional flights, the airline will utilize Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 aircraft, aiming to offer travelers enhanced flexibility and more travel choices between the two cities.

Qatar Airways has been progressively restoring its regional network, having resumed flights to Dubai and Sharjah in April, and reinitiating services to Abu Dhabi in May. Furthermore, the airline aims to broaden its international reach, targeting over 160 destinations this summer.

The revised summer schedule will be active until September 15 and includes multiple frequency increases and route modifications to cater to the heightened seasonal demand.

Notably, Qatar Airways has indicated that despite this expansion, they still face challenges owing to the ongoing airspace restrictions in the Middle East. Presently, flights operate through a limited safe corridor sanctioned by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, and schedules remain contingent upon regulatory approvals and changing airspace conditions.

Passengers have been cautioned that flight schedules might be subject to changes or cancellations due to operational, regulatory, or safety-related matters. Affected travelers will have access to rebooking options or refunds per the airline’s policies.

This latest service expansion emphasizes Qatar Airways' commitment to enhancing regional connectivity while addressing the rising passenger demand in the busy summer travel season.
