Massive Fire Engulfs Rubber Warehouse in Qingdao, China

A massive fire broke out at Qingdao Xiangyu Suchuan Supply Chain Co., Ltd. in Huangdao District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province, China, on August 2, sending thick black smoke into the sky that could be seen from several kilometres away.

According to the company, the fire started at around 5:00 PM local time and quickly spread through a large rubber logistics warehouse. Emergency response teams arrived at the scene and worked to bring the blaze under control.

Warehouse Stored Rubber, Alumina and Tyres

The affected warehouse was used to store commodities including rubber, alumina and tyres. The fire caused significant damage to the storage facility, while officials continue to assess the overall losses caused by the incident.

The company said the fire has been contained and confirmed that no casualties have been reported.

Cause of Fire Under Investigation

Authorities are investigating what caused the fire. The company stated that the investigation is ongoing and that the exact cause has not yet been determined.

Despite the incident, company officials said they do not expect the fire to have a material impact on overall business operations. However, the full extent of the damage is still being evaluated.

Emergency Response Contained the Blaze

Emergency crews responded soon after the fire was reported and successfully brought the situation under control. Thick smoke from the burning warehouse remained visible from a long distance as firefighters worked at the site.

Officials are continuing to assess the damage while the investigation into the incident remains underway.
