QRCS Provides Urgent Relief to 20,700 Families in Beirut, Lebanon

QRCS Provides Urgent Relief to 20,700 Families in Beirut, Lebanon

Post by : Badri Ariffin

In response to the humanitarian crisis in Beirut, Lebanon, the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has launched its emergency relief efforts aimed at families affected by the ongoing conflict and displacement.

This relief initiative is being executed in partnership with the Lebanese Red Cross and the Ministry of Social Affairs, ensuring that aid reaches those most in need through QRCS's local office.

QRCS’s humanitarian response is benefiting a total of 20,700 people. The support provided includes 4,140 food parcels stocked with essential items and 3,741 hygiene kits designed to assist families in maintaining personal care during this difficult time.

Dedicated to monitoring local needs, the QRCS project team collaborates closely with local partners to respond swiftly to urgent requirements as the situation evolves.

It has been reported that over a million individuals have been displaced, with many families finding refuge in public shelters or temporary accommodations that lack sufficient resources. These households face severe challenges in accessing food and hygiene products amid rising difficulties.

This initiative underscores Qatar's commitment to supporting Lebanon during its ongoing humanitarian challenges, showcasing the collaborative efforts of the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and QRCS to provide timely assistance, preserve lives, and bolster recovery initiatives in the affected regions.
