In a thrilling match at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex on Sunday, the Saudi men’s national handball team secured a notable win against Bahrain during the sixth Islamic Solidarity Games, “Riyadh 2025.” This competition, part of Group B, showcased Saudi Arabia's first senior-level victory over Bahrain in eight years, a significant achievement celebrated by fans.

The Saudi players exhibited exceptional skill and strategic play right from the beginning, leading with a score of 16-9 by halftime. Their coordination on offense and quick transitions kept Bahrain's defense under intense pressure. With impressive teamwork, accurate passing, and sharp shooting, the Saudi team established an early lead in the match.

Even though Bahrain made efforts to rally in the second half, Saudi Arabia sustained control of the game, effectively countering attacks and holding crucial positions. They extended their lead gradually and concluded the match with a resounding score of 27-21.

This victory is especially meaningful as it marks the end of an eight-year winless streak against Bahrain in senior men's handball, last achieved in 2015. The team’s preparation, commitment, and strategic execution were clear throughout the match, earning accolades from coaches, officials, and supporters alike.

The Islamic Solidarity Games serve as a vital venue for athletes from member nations to exhibit their talents, promote sportsmanship, and foster regional collaboration. The Saudi handball team’s victory not only lifts spirits but also enhances their tournament standing, instilling confidence for forthcoming matches.
