Eutelsat Appoints Sébastien Rouge as CFO, To Assume Role in February 2026

Eutelsat Appoints Sébastien Rouge as CFO, To Assume Role in February 2026

Post by : Badri Ariffin

Eutelsat has announced a scheduled change in its senior finance leadership. Sébastien Rouge, who currently serves as head of finance at Imerys and previously led finance at semiconductor materials firm Soitec, will take up the role of Chief Financial Officer in February 2026.

Rouge succeeds Christophe Caudrelier, who is stepping down after a three-year stint as Eutelsat’s CFO. Caudrelier’s period in office coincided with a time of intense industry competition, technological renewal and shifting market requirements for satellite services.

Rouge arrives with a track record spanning corporate finance and operational oversight across resource and technology sectors. Observers note his experience in capital-intensive, globally distributed businesses could help reshape Eutelsat’s financing strategy and support investment in upcoming satellite programmes.

The appointment comes as the satellite sector undergoes rapid transformation driven by booming data demand, the build-out of digital infrastructure and growing pressure from new space entrants. The board framed the choice as a move to strengthen strategic financial stewardship amid those market dynamics.

Analysts expect Rouge to pursue a balance between tightening cost controls and enabling targeted innovation spending, aiming to align Eutelsat’s capital structure with its growth ambitions while managing operational risks.
