His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative for the Al Ain Region, welcomed a group from the UAE Cybersecurity Council (CSC) at Al Maqam Palace, led by His Excellency Dr Mohammed Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the Council.
In their discussions, Sheikh Hazza was updated on the Council’s initiatives aimed at bolstering the UAE’s digital infrastructure and advancing the nation’s capabilities in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. These initiatives are designed to establish a secure and innovative digital environment that aligns with global technological advancements and supports various businesses and sectors.
Additionally, His Highness reviewed the expansion plans for the CyberE71 Incubator Programme, the UAE’s premier project dedicated to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship within the cybersecurity field. This broadened initiative is set to engage students from schools and universities as well as entrepreneurs in the Al Ain Region, targeting skill enhancement and the development of sophisticated cybersecurity measures to safeguard cyberspace while bolstering the digital economy.
Sheikh Hazza reinforced the necessity of cultivating cybersecurity talent nationwide to enhance the UAE’s defensive capabilities against cyber threats. He emphasized that a secure digital landscape is critical for elevating economic productivity, enhancing global competitiveness, and facilitating the shift towards a knowledge and innovation-driven economy.
Moreover, he pointed out the importance of raising cybersecurity awareness among individuals and organizations to combat digital threats, protect national achievements, and support the broader objectives in AI and digital transformation. He asserted that such awareness is crucial for sustainable economic development across key sectors.
The delegation from the UAE Cybersecurity Council expressed their gratitude to Sheikh Hazza for the productive meeting, highlighting his keen interest in priority areas and ongoing support for initiatives that advance digital readiness and reinforce the cybersecurity landscape in Al Ain and throughout the emirate.
His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan also attended the meeting.
