His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan attended the 19th Dubai Airshow today, emphasizing the event at Dubai World Central where the theme is “The Future is Here.” This international exhibition, which runs until November 21st, has gathered industry leaders in aviation, aerospace, and defense from across the globe.
As part of his tour, Sheikh Mohamed visited both indoor exhibits and outdoor displays, taking note of state-of-the-art technologies from both local and international firms. The showcase featured a range of innovations, from advancements in civil aviation to next-generation military aircraft and integrated air-defense systems.
A standout moment was the official introduction of the Badr-250 (B-250), a versatile aircraft developed solely by Emirati engineers at Calidus Group. This aircraft signifies a notable achievement in the UAE's defense manufacturing landscape, showcasing years of dedication and local ingenuity. Sheikh Mohamed examined the aircraft closely and spoke with the design and production team.
At the Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement pavilion, he learned about new initiatives aimed at bolstering a robust, future-oriented defense framework within the UAE. The council also demonstrated ongoing projects aimed at enhancing local production and fostering sustainable industrial growth.
Sheikh Mohamed praised the ongoing improvements seen in the UAE's defense and aerospace industries, highlighting the significant contributions from Emirati professionals and the growing presence of national companies on the global stage. He noted the Dubai Airshow's importance as a reliable platform for connecting innovators, manufacturers, and decision-makers in the industry.
Upon his arrival at Dubai World Central, he was greeted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, along with His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister. They exchanged pleasantries before commencing the tour.
During the event, Sheikh Mohamed also met with Wei Yingbiao, a Board Member and President of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), to discuss the role of the Dubai Airshow in linking global industry players and showcasing advanced systems.
Accompanied by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, and several senior officials, Sheikh Mohamed's visit marked a pivotal moment at one of the most significant aerospace exhibitions worldwide.
