Sidra Medicine, a key part of Qatar Foundation, has proudly been designated a ZEISS labs@location Reference Customer via its Advanced Imaging Core (AIC), signifying a substantial milestone in advanced medical imaging and biomedical studies.
This acknowledgment places Sidra Medicine among a distinguished cadre of renowned research hospitals, academic medical centers, and scientific institutions recognized for their excellence in advanced microscopy and imaging techniques.
The ZEISS labs@location Program fosters collaboration between ZEISS and premier laboratories globally. This initiative is aimed at cultivating advanced imaging applications, offering scientific training, expert demonstrations, and promoting knowledge sharing in imaging science.
The head of the Advanced Imaging Core at Sidra Medicine, Abbirami Sathappan, remarked that this recognition exemplifies the expertise, robust infrastructure, and collaborative research environment established within the center. She further expressed that this designation will enhance the center’s capability to support researchers and clinicians with advanced imaging workflows that facilitate rapid scientific breakthroughs and clinically pertinent research.
The award was granted following a thorough evaluation of Sidra Medicine’s Advanced Imaging Core, which underscored the center’s advanced imaging abilities, operational excellence, scientific knowledge, and capacity to deliver high-level training and knowledge dissemination.
The facility was also commended for its support of intricate imaging applications, publication-grade research, and collaborative biomedical initiatives.
Chief Research Officer at Sidra Medicine, Prof. Khalid Fakhro, expressed pride in receiving this international accolade. He highlighted that Sidra Medicine consistently invests in cutting-edge research platforms and advanced testing capabilities that directly contribute to patient care and medical innovations.
He added that the ZEISS recognition bolsters Sidra Medicine’s objective to enhance diagnostics and deepen the understanding of rare and complex conditions, ultimately aiding in the provision of more precise treatments and improved patient outcomes.
