Soha Ali Khan Reflects on Family Dinners and Private Anecdotes

Soha Ali Khan Reflects on Family Dinners and Private Anecdotes

Post by : Meena Ariff

Actor Soha Ali Khan recently offered an intimate look at family mealtimes, recounting seldom-shared memories about her late parents, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore. Hailing from a household entwined with film and cricket, Soha is connected to notable figures including Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Amrita Singh, Sara Ali Khan and her mother, Sharmila Tagore.

Entertaining Family Dinners

Soha described how gatherings around the table often become lively, with certain relatives standing out for their humour and energy.

“When you sit down with a table full of performers, conversation inevitably turns to ourselves. Still, there are real entertainers at those meals — Kareena and Kunal often steal the show. On their best nights, they have us laughing uncontrollably,” Soha said.

She added that much of their comic outlook traces back to shared experiences: time spent abroad, exposure to British social sensibilities and a family environment that encouraged self-mockery and lightness.

Reflections on Siblings and Childhood

Soha also reflected on her formative years and the different paths her siblings took, illustrating how education and interests shaped their choices.

“Saif attended Winchester for school while I pursued university later. His route into films was different, and he settled in Mumbai. I felt driven to build my own identity and make my parents proud. Saba leaned toward the arts — studying at Delhi College of Art and the GIA in jewellery design — preferring creative work behind the camera to being in front of it,” she noted.

Soha, daughter of the late cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and actor Sharmila Tagore, married actor Kunal Kemmu on January 25, 2015. The couple have a daughter, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu, born on September 29, 2017.
