SpaceX has successfully launched another batch of 29 Starlink satellites aboard its Falcon 9 rocket from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, marking another milestone in its mission to deliver global internet coverage. The latest Starlink launch took place on Thursday (IST) and is part of the company’s ongoing expansion of its low-Earth orbit satellite network, which already serves millions of users across the globe.
The mission used a Falcon 9 first-stage booster making its fifth flight, underlining SpaceX’s focus on reusability and cost efficiency. The satellites are expected to deploy into orbit a little over an hour after liftoff, further strengthening the Starlink constellation that powers high-speed connectivity in remote and underserved regions.
With this launch, SpaceX continues to expand its vision of creating a reliable, high-performance satellite-based internet service. Starlink currently connects over 7 million users across 150 countries and territories, supporting everything from streaming and gaming to remote work and online education.
According to the company’s official data, SpaceX has so far completed 565 missions, achieved 525 successful booster landings, and conducted 490 re-flights — an impressive record that reinforces its leadership in commercial space innovation.
Starlink is an ambitious initiative by SpaceX to build a constellation of small satellites in low-Earth orbit, designed to provide fast and affordable internet access anywhere on the planet. Each satellite has an operational lifespan of about five years before being replaced with newer, more efficient versions.
Currently, around 8,475 Starlink satellites are in orbit, with plans to eventually deploy up to 42,000 satellites. The service has been widely adopted in rural and remote regions where traditional broadband connectivity remains limited or unavailable.
Founded in 2002 by Elon Musk, SpaceX was created to revolutionize space transportation and make interplanetary travel possible. The company’s reusable rocket technology has drastically reduced launch costs, paving the way for frequent and affordable missions.
Beyond expanding Starlink, SpaceX’s long-term vision includes advancing human spaceflight and eventually enabling missions to Mars. Its continuous series of successful launches and innovations reflects a significant step toward that goal.
As the Starlink constellation grows, SpaceX moves closer to its dream of providing fast, reliable, and accessible internet for everyone — no matter where they are in the world.
