Tickets for the highly anticipated 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup are officially on sale, marking a major milestone for cricket fans worldwide. The tournament, set to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, will kick off on February 7, 2026, promising a celebration of world-class T20 cricket across multiple iconic venues. Phase one of ticket sales began on December 11 at 18:45 IST and Sri Lanka time (13:15 GMT), with prices starting at just INR 100 in India and LKR 1000 in Sri Lanka, making the event highly accessible to fans from all walks of life. Phase two of the ticket sales will be announced shortly, with tickets available for purchase through tickets.cricketworldcup.com.
ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta emphasized that affordability is central to the World Cup strategy, stating that every cricket fan, regardless of background, should have the opportunity to experience the thrill of live international cricket. “With tickets starting from just INR 100 and LKR 1000, we are inviting millions to actively participate in the energy, emotion, and excitement that only a stadium can deliver,” Gupta said. The 2026 tournament will feature 20 teams competing in 55 matches, following the same format as the 2024 edition.
The first round will see teams divided into five groups of four. Group A will feature India, Pakistan, USA, Netherlands, and Namibia, while Group B will include Sri Lanka, Australia, Ireland, Zimbabwe, and Oman. Group C will see England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Italy, and Group D will consist of New Zealand, South Africa, Afghanistan, Canada, and UAE. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eight stage, where they will be split into two groups of four. Super Eight Group 1 is expected to include India, Australia, West Indies, and South Africa, while Super Eight Group 2 will feature England, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, depending on first-round outcomes.
The semi-finals will be held in Kolkata or Colombo (if Pakistan qualifies) on March 4 and in Mumbai on March 5. The final will take place in Ahmedabad on March 8, with Colombo serving as the alternative venue if Pakistan reaches the final. Matches will be played in three time slots daily—11:00 AM, 3:00 PM, and 7:00 PM IST—ensuring fans across the globe can follow the action. With ticket prices starting at INR 100 and LKR 1000, the 2026 T20 World Cup promises to deliver one of the most inclusive and thrilling cricket experiences in history, allowing fans to witness every boundary, wicket, and super over live in stadiums across India and Sri Lanka.
