Tadweer Group has rolled out its innovative waste collection service, Tajmee’e, into the northern and north-eastern sectors of Abu Dhabi. This initiative represents the first major growth phase for the system, enhancing the environmental framework of the emirate.
Key areas now included in the expansion are Khalifa City, Shakhbout City, Yas Island, Al Rahba, Al Shahama, Al Samha, Ghantoot, and the airport zone in Abu Dhabi.
Tajmee’e is a cutting-edge waste management solution that employs AI for route optimization, offers real-time monitoring via a central control hub, and features safety systems in vehicles to observe driver attentiveness. Data collected helps tailor collection routes according to actual needs, bolstering efficiency and reliability as the service scales.
Etienne Petit, the CEO of Tadweer Group, emphasized that effective waste collection is essential to establishing a thriving circular economy. He pointed out that enhancing the quality and efficiency of collection services at the community level is critical for minimizing landfill contributions. This initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi’s objective to reroute 80% of its waste from landfills by 2031.
The updated services encompass residential, commercial, and bulky waste collection. Over 100 vehicles are now in operation, backed by a team of more than 270 trained staff members. They have undergone 1,509 hours of technical training and 1,360 hours focused on health, safety, and environmental protocols, all while maintaining a zero Lost Time Injury record during the implementation phase.
Ashly Alex, CEO of Tajmee’e, commented that the system is engineered to uphold a robust performance as it scales. He stressed that the operational approach allows for comprehensive visibility, control, and swift response throughout the network, ensuring consistent service quality.
With this latest development, Tajmee’e now delivers services to 29 districts in northern Abu Dhabi, with plans for further expansion in line with Tadweer’s commitment to establish a comprehensive waste management framework across the emirate.
This expansion is pivotal in reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s circular economy. As a fundamental part of the waste management process, proficient collection lays the groundwork for recycling, processing, and energy production within the emirate.
