Telangana’s Excise Special Task Force (STF) has uncovered an alleged narcotics distribution operation reportedly run from a rented flat in Hyderabad’s Musheerabad by a post-graduate doctor.
Following a tip-off, the STF’s ‘B’ team searched Dr John Paul’s residence and recovered six different controlled substances with an estimated street value near ₹3 lakh. Seized items included OG Kush (26.95g), MDMA (6.21g), LSD (15 sticks), cocaine (1.32g), Gummus (5.80g) and a small quantity of hashish oil (0.008g).
Investigators say Paul is suspected to be a user who joined the trafficking chain to fund his habit. Authorities allege the flat was converted into a storage and distribution point for consignments reportedly routed from Delhi and Bengaluru.
Three alleged accomplices identified as Pramod, Sandeep and Sharath (also known as Saratulu) have not been arrested and are being actively traced by the STF.
An STF officer said the premises served as a supply node: clients were serviced from the location while Paul was reportedly permitted to consume drugs without payment as part of the arrangement.
The diversity and quantities of narcotics recovered point to a structured supply network, heightening concerns about professionals becoming entangled in organised drug operations in Hyderabad.
In a related action, Special Operations Teams disrupted a rave gathering in Madhapur, Rangareddy district, taking 11 people into custody on suspicion of drug use and distribution.
Officials indicated that further information will be released as enquiries continue and that investigations are ongoing to piece together the full supply chain and distribution network.
The case comes amid intensified anti-narcotics efforts by Telangana police, who have reiterated plans to bolster surveillance and enforcement across the state.
