Thailand Joins DSA NATSEC Asia 2026 Event

Thailand Joins DSA NATSEC Asia 2026 Event

Post by : Shakul

Thailand strengthened its presence in regional defence cooperation as senior officials attended the opening ceremony of DSA and NATSEC Asia 2026 in Kuala Lumpur.

The delegation was led by Tharaphong Malakham, who participated along with representatives from the armed forces at the major international defence and security event held from April 20 to 23, 2026.

The event was officially opened by Anwar Ibrahim, with participation from high level officials and representatives from 76 countries, highlighting its importance as a global defence platform.

DSA and NATSEC Asia 2026 is recognized as one of the most significant defence exhibitions in the region, bringing together more than 1,400 companies from 63 countries. The event focuses on modern defence capabilities and resilience through technology, showcasing innovations across a large exhibition space.

For Thailand, participation in this event provides an important opportunity to study global trends in advanced defence technologies such as unmanned aerial vehicles, artificial intelligence, and automation. These technologies are expected to play a key role in modernizing the armed forces and improving operational efficiency.

The event also serves as a platform to strengthen cooperation with international defence agencies and build strategic partnerships. It allows Thailand to exchange knowledge, develop networks, and expand collaboration opportunities in the global defence industry.

During the visit, the Permanent Secretary toured booths showcasing Thai defence products that are currently used by the armed forces and have potential for export. This reflects Thailand’s growing capability and ambition in the international defence market.

He also visited exhibits from foreign companies with expertise in naval construction, particularly frigates, which could support Thailand’s future plans to develop domestic shipbuilding capabilities through strategic policies and partnerships.
