Thailand’s Student Loan Fund (SLF) has officially opened loan applications for vocational certificate and vocational diploma students for the 2026 academic year. The initiative is designed to help students gain access to quality education while supporting workforce development in sectors that are critical to the country’s future economic growth.
The loan program covers students enrolled in both vocational certificate and higher vocational diploma courses across a wide range of disciplines. The fund aims to encourage young people to pursue technical and vocational education that aligns with current labor market demands and national development goals.
A major focus of this year’s program is the agricultural and fisheries technology sector. Eligible courses include agro-industry, agricultural technology and innovation, modern farm management, and advanced harvesting techniques. These fields are increasingly important as Thailand continues to modernize its agricultural industry through technology-driven solutions and sustainable practices.
In addition to agricultural programs, the Student Loan Fund is extending support to students pursuing studies in Thai arts and culture. Courses related to fine arts, handicrafts, royal goldsmithing, traditional Thai dance, and Thai music are included in the list of eligible programs. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to preserving Thailand’s cultural heritage while creating new career opportunities for young professionals.
Students interested in obtaining financial assistance must submit their applications through their educational institutions according to the official schedule established by the Student Loan Fund. New applicants are required to complete an initial eligibility screening through the Pre-Approve system before proceeding with the loan agreement process via the Digital Student Loan Fund (DSL) platform.
The Student Loan Fund emphasized that technical and specialized professions continue to offer strong employment prospects, competitive salaries, and significant career advancement opportunities. By choosing vocational education pathways, students can acquire industry-relevant skills while receiving financial support that helps reduce educational expenses and allows them to focus on professional development.
Officials believe the expanded loan program will contribute to building a highly skilled workforce capable of supporting Thailand’s long-term economic growth. Students seeking additional information about eligibility criteria, approved courses, and application procedures are encouraged to visit the official Student Loan Fund website and consult their educational institutions for further guidance.
