“They Call Him OG,” the highly anticipated gangster drama directed by Sujeeth, is set to release in theatres on 25 September, with paid premiere shows on 24 September night. The film stars Pawan Kalyan, Emraan Hashmi, and Priyanka Mohan in lead roles.
According to reports from Sacnilk, the film has already collected nearly ₹75 crore worldwide through advance bookings, making it one of the biggest openings for Pawan Kalyan. In India, the advance bookings account for around ₹45 crore, while international sales have contributed approximately ₹30 crore.
Pawan Kalyan plays the titular character, Ojas Gambheera, who comes out of retirement to confront crime boss Omi Bhau, portrayed by Emraan Hashmi in his Telugu debut. Priyanka Mohan plays his wife in the film, while Arjun Das, Prakash Raj, and Sriya Reddy play key supporting roles. Music for the film is composed by Thaman S.
The film has been certified A by the CBFC, marking Pawan Kalyan’s first adult-rated film in 14 years since “Panjaa” (2011), which was also a gangster drama. Industry analysts predict that “They Call Him OG” could have an opening day collection close to ₹150 crore worldwide, potentially surpassing the lifetime collections of Pawan Kalyan’s previous hits, including “Bheemla Nayak” (2022).
Produced by DVV Entertainment, the film’s hype has been building rapidly, with fans eagerly waiting to see the superstar on the big screen once again. The success of the advance booking indicates strong audience interest both in India and abroad.
